ALL-SEASON OUTDOOR SKILLS : Winter/Spring Saturdays Kids ages 7 – 14

1:00 – 3:00 At the historic 160 acre Keziahlain Farm

Join Free Spirit Staff and Friends for a Monthly Outdoor Skills Gathering

Nature awareness, tracking and movement, knife carving, friction fires, outdoor cooking, hand-made tools and utensils, winter survival and more!

 $35 per class drop-in rate. 

Led by trained and experienced outdoor and primitive skills specialists. All supplies are provided. 

Joe Blevis – studied at Tom Brown’s Tracker School, teaches kids and adults skills including nature awareness, movement and tracking, shelter building, bow drill fires, and more. 

Bex Carter – Director at Free Spirit Nature Camp and teacher at The Birch School, former staff at Camp Thoreau in Vt, teaches outdoor skills, awareness, cordage, fire, camoflauge, team-building games and problem-solving challenges. 

Max Gaydos – Crafts master and knife skills teacher, carving artist and student of the slöjd, a place where people make the things they need using simple tools and materials that are all around them.

REMAINING CLASSES:

March  23 Coal burned utensils continued, survival techniqes and tips

April 27 – basic wood carving and knife skills, ecology games

May 11  – Fire-making – Outdoor cooking over open fire, bow drill fires,
